How we plan a day

Start with what the day has to do.

A merger that needs two departments to trust each other, a sales team that needs rewarding, a leadership group that needs to think for once without a screen — these are not the same day, and they should not get the same activity. We ask for the objective first, then choose the terrain: the souks, the stone desert at Agafay, a Berber valley in the Atlas.

Every format is run by our own facilitators, drivers and coordinators rather than handed to a third party once the contract is signed. The run-sheet you receive is timed to the minute, priced line by line, and already carries a sheltered alternative if the weather turns.

  • Objective and participant profile scoped before we quote
  • Facilitators, transport, equipment and insurance in one price
  • Parallel tracks above eighty participants — nobody queues
  • Named indoor or sheltered alternative with every outdoor format

Formats

Six formats we run most often

Mix and match to the objective and the clock.

01

Medina navigation challenge

Teams work through the souks, fondouks and hidden squares against the clock, decoding clues with a local guide shadowing each group. Scored, timed and photographed.

02

Tagine cook-off

Teams source spices in the souk, then compete under a chef's guidance to produce the better tagine. It ends as a shared meal rather than a lecture, which is usually the point.

03

Agafay desert circuits

Quad and buggy routes across the stone desert forty-five minutes from the city, followed by lunch or dinner at a camp. Briefing and safety equipment included.

04

Atlas Mountain treks

Guided walks from Imlil or the Ourika Valley with lunch in a Berber family home. Routes graded so mixed-fitness groups finish together instead of strung out over a hillside.

05

Artisan workshops

Hands-on pottery, zellige and weaving sessions with master craftsmen. Slower-paced, and a genuine alternative for groups where a competitive format would not land.

06

CSR and community days

School-garden projects, women's cooperative visits and Atlas reforestation work, arranged with organisations we already have relationships with rather than staged for the day.

Why Marrakech

A backdrop the budget doesn't fight.

The climate stays workable for outdoor formats most of the year, and the city sits under four hours from most European hubs — a three-day programme keeps its three days. Within an hour of the plenary you have a stone desert, a palm grove and the foothills of the Atlas.

Against the euro and the pound, a full-day desert format with a camp dinner typically costs meaningfully less than an equivalent day in Southern Europe, without asking the group to settle for a hotel car park and a rope course.

How the format changes with group size

The activity is chosen for the objective; the shape is set by how many people are coming.

10–25 participants

Single facilitated group

One facilitator, one vehicle, one activity running start to finish. The whole group shares the same experience and the same story afterwards.

25–60 participants

Split teams, one venue

Teams compete against each other in the same location, with scoring and a prize-giving. The most common shape for a corporate away-day.

60–120 participants

Parallel activity tracks

Groups rotate between two or three activities with separate facilitators, so nobody waits. Needs a venue with space to run them side by side.

120–200+ participants

Wave scheduling

Staggered start times across the morning and afternoon, multiple vehicles, and a central base where everyone reconvenes for lunch or dinner.

Questions

What organisers ask first

Anything not covered here, ask the ops desk directly on WhatsApp.

What team building activities do you run in Marrakech?

Medina navigation challenges, tagine cook-offs with a chef, quad and buggy circuits in Agafay, Atlas Mountain treks from Imlil or the Ourika Valley, artisan workshops with master craftsmen, and desert camp evenings. Facilitators, transport, equipment and insurance are included in the quote.

What group sizes work for team building here?

Formats run from ten participants up to 200+. Around ten to twelve is where group pricing and exclusive-use venues start to make sense; above eighty we split into parallel tracks with separate facilitators so nobody spends the day queuing.

How long does a team building day take?

A half-day format runs three to four hours including transfers. Full days run six to eight. Most corporate groups pair a morning workshop with an afternoon activity and an evening dinner, which we operate as one continuous programme.

Can activities be adapted for mixed fitness levels?

Yes, and it is worth flagging in your brief. Atlas treks have easier valley routes alongside longer ascents, and cooking, artisan and medina formats need no particular fitness. We plan for the whole group rather than the fittest third.

What happens if the weather turns?

Every outdoor programme is quoted with a named indoor or sheltered alternative, not a vague promise. Summer heat is planned around by scheduling activity early or late and using pools, riads and the cooler Atlas in the middle of the day.

Do you provide facilitators and scoring?

Yes — English and French-speaking facilitators as standard, Spanish and Arabic on request. Competitive formats come with scoring, timing and prize-giving, plus photo coverage where you want material for internal communications.

Can team building be combined with a conference?

That is the most common request. We build the activity day into the wider programme so transfers, catering and timings line up with your plenary schedule instead of being booked separately and colliding with it.

Trade enquiries

Send the objective. The run-sheet comes back costed.

Participant count, dates and what the day has to achieve is enough to start. What the group did last year is the most useful thing you can add.
