Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1

Marrakech Imlil Toubkal Refuge

Our private Atlas and Sahara tour from Marrakech sets off after breakfast with a transfer to Imlil, where we meet our mountain team and start the Toubkal trek. We walk through the village of Aremd and on past the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch, then continue uphill to the Toubkal Refuge at 3,207 metres. Dinner and overnight stay in the refuge — the first night of this 5-day Toubkal and Merzouga combined tour.

Day 2

Toubkal Refuge Imlil Marrakech

We start early in the morning to climb the summit of Jebel Toubkal at 4,167 metres, with breathtaking views over the High Atlas peaks and the Sahara horizons. After savouring the summit, we descend back to the refuge, continue down to Imlil and transfer you to your accommodation in Marrakech.

Day 3

Marrakech - Aït Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Gorges

Our journey from Marrakech to the Atlas and Merzouga continues over the Tizi n'Tichka pass and on to the famed kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch we drive to Ouarzazate, then continue via Skoura to the Dades Valley, where you spend the night in a riad or hotel with dinner included.

Day 4

Dades Gorges Erfoud Merzouga and camel ride with night in desert camp

After breakfast our 5-day Atlas and Sahara desert tour continues to Tinjdad and the spectacular Todra Gorges. We then drive to Erfoud, where you can see the fossil workshops, before reaching the Erg Chebbi dunes of Merzouga in the late afternoon. We ride camels into the dunes, watch the sunset and reach our Berber camp for dinner. The evening ends around the campfire with traditional Berber music, before an overnight stay in comfortable nomad tents.

Day 5

Merzouga Camel Trek Atlas mountains Marrakech

On the final day of our 5-day Toubkal and Merzouga combined tour, we watch the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi Sahara dunes, then ride the camels back to the village for breakfast. We then drive via Nkob and Ouarzazate and cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass to reach Marrakech, where the tour ends.
