Route map

Departing from Tangier

Twelve days from Tangier is Morocco end-to-end, with room to breathe. Starting at the Strait of Gibraltar — where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean and Africa faces Europe across 14km of water — the circuit moves through every major Moroccan landscape: the Rif Mountains, the imperial medinas, the Middle Atlas cedar forests, the Sahara dunes at Merzouga, the Draa Valley, the High Atlas, and the Atlantic coast at Essaouira before ending in Marrakech.

Tangier as the starting point gives the tour its most logical geographic narrative: you travel from the extreme north to the extreme south of the country, always moving forward without backtracking. The variety is extreme — the temperature at Erg Chebbi in summer is 45°C, while the Rif Mountains above Chefchaouen can be cool enough for a jacket in the same week. This is the full range of Morocco, not a highlights reel.

Twelve days also means genuine leisure time at each stop: three nights in Fes (enough for the medina, the tanneries and a day trip), two nights in the Sahara (sunset and sunrise in the dunes), and two nights in Marrakech before flying home. All accommodation, daily breakfast and dinner, camel trek, and private vehicle with driver-guide throughout are included. Request a quote.

Frequently asked questions

How many days for a Morocco desert tour from Tangier?

Twelve days is the comfortable length for a grand loop covering Tangier, Chefchaouen, Fes, the Sahara at Merzouga, Marrakech and Casablanca. Shorter loops drop the southern coast or finish at Marrakech instead of returning to Tangier.

What's included in this 12-day Morocco desert tour from Tangier?

Hotel pick-up in Tangier, a private air-conditioned vehicle, an English-speaking driver, fuel, eleven nights of accommodation in riads, kasbahs and a Sahara camp, all dinners and breakfasts, plus the Merzouga camel trek.

Do we sleep in a Sahara camp on this Tangier tour?

Yes — one night is in a Berber camp on the Erg Chebbi dunes after a sunset camel ride. Tents have real beds, en-suite bathrooms and a starlit dinner is included.

Can the itinerary finish in Marrakech instead of Tangier?

Yes — many travellers prefer a one-way loop ending in Marrakech, Casablanca or Fes. Tell us your departure airport and we'll reshape the 12-day plan around it.
