Local Morocco Tours is a Moroccan tour company founded in Marrakech in 2012. Drawing on more than a decade of guiding experience, we deliver world-class private tours across Morocco and neighbouring countries. Our offering includes luxury 4x4 safari tours, walking tours of the Atlas Mountains, Sahara desert adventures, imperial city tours and cultural experiences — each one private, led by a local-born guide and built around your pace and interests.

A licensed local team, not a booking platform.

Local Morocco Tours has operated from Marrakech since 2012. We are a Moroccan company, and when you enquire you are talking to the people who plan and run the trip — real people based in Marrakech, not a call centre or a reseller passing your booking down a chain.

Many of our private tours are led by our licensed guide, Mohamed Chajia, who holds a Moroccan Ministry national tour guide licence, number MA76175, and has guided since 2019. We print that number on our tour pages because a registration number tells you more than the word “licensed” on its own. Mohamed guides in Arabic, English, French and Spanish, across Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains, Merzouga, Ouarzazate, Fez, Rabat, Casablanca, Chefchaouen, Essaouira and Agadir. Guides we contract hold their own national licences.

How a private Morocco tour runs with us.

Every trip we run is private. We don’t pool travellers into shared groups, so the vehicle, the guide and the timing of each day are yours alone.

A multi-day tour starts with pick-up from your hotel or riad, or a transfer from the airport, and travels in a spacious, air-conditioned private vehicle with an experienced local guide. We normally set off around 9 a.m., but you choose the departure time. Guiding is in English, French or Spanish, with other languages available on request. Nights are spent in hotels, riads and kasbahs — and, on desert routes, a camp in the Erg Chebbi dunes — at a regular or premium level, as you prefer.

Our itineraries are a starting point rather than a script: tell us you want a slower pace, a different overnight stop or an extra day, and we rework the route around your budget. We book drivers, riads and camps through licensed partners, and if weather, road closures or other events beyond our control force a change, we arrange the nearest equivalent alternative at no extra cost.

How enquiries and booking work.

Our tours are priced “By Request” because each one is private and costed for your group size, dates and accommodation level. We reply within 24 hours with a tailor-made itinerary and a transparent quote, free of charge. Our team answers Monday to Sunday, 08:00–22:00 (GMT+1).

A booking is confirmed once we receive the agreed deposit, usually 20–30% of the total price. The balance is payable in cash on arrival in Morocco, or by bank transfer before the trip starts. Cancel more than 30 days before departure and the deposit is refunded minus bank fees — the full policy is set out in our booking terms and conditions.
